About Lenny Schmidt

Lenny Schmidt graduated from Bolingbrook High School in 1983. Less than three years later, he hit the stage for the first time at Hollywood’s “Comedy Store”. That was beginning of a career in Show Business that has spanned Twenty-Eight years. Lenny spent much of the last part of the eighties working his craft all over the L.A. comedy scene.

In the Nineties, Lenny returned home to study Improv at Chicago’s “Improvolympic”, a training ground for such comedy icons as Chris Farley, Mike Meyers. and Del Close. This was his introduction to “Sketch Comedy”. It wasn’t long before he was writing, directing, producing, and performing live comedy shows all over Chicagoland. This also lead to the beginning of Lenny’s acting career, booking a number of local commercials. He juggled all of this while continuing his stand-up comedy career. He has performed in over 40 states, Mexico and Canada. He also has recorded three comedy cd’s.

Lenny moved back to Hollywood in 1999. The last Ten years have been pretty busy. He has appeared in several films, such as “Joe Dirt” and “The Ugly Truth”. He has performed dramatic roles in Television shows such as; “NCIS”, “ER”, “Prison Break”, “Bones”, “True Blood” and “Desperate Housewives”. He can currently be seen as “Charlie” on the final season of HBO’s “Big Love”

Lenny has also written, directed, produced, and performed in several sketch shows, short films, and Theater presentations, including his own one-man show titled “Better”. Numerous comedy shorts can be seen on his youtube channel (mrlennyschmidt) and website.

Lenny continues to stay true to his first love, Stand-up Comedy. He performs weekly in the L.A. area and at a select number of clubs nationally.
